THE INSTITUTE FOR PHYSICAL PLANNING OF PRIMORJE-GORSKI KOTAR COUNTY PARTICIPATED IN THE MOUNTRESILIENCE PROJECT MEETING IN FINLAND

Representatives of the Institute for Physical Planning of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County participated in the third consortium meeting of the European MountResilience project, held from 23rd to 25th September 2025 in Kilpisjärvi, Finland.

The Institute is participating in the project as apartner in charge of the replicator area of Gorski Kotar, with the aim of developing and implementing solutions for the climate adaptation of mountain areas. Participation in this project enables the Institute to enhance its professional capacities and access innovative tools and methods for climate change resilience planning.

For Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, the project brings the possibility of directly transferring European experiences into the design of local and regional climate adaptation strategies, which contributes to a more sustainable development of the Gorski Kotar region.

During the meeting in Finland, the partners exchanged experiences and presented the results of the project so far. A tour of the demonstration area in Kilpisjärvi was organised, as well as a presentation of innovative solutions for public inclusion and examples of local economies adapting to climate change.

The MountResilience project is financed through the HORIZON Clima programme, and runs until February 2028, bringing together 47 partner institutions from across Europe.
