FIRST MEETING OF THE INTERREG ITALY-CROATIA PROJECT CRESCO ADRIA

The first meeting of the Interreg Italy-Croatia project Cresco Adria – Resilient Coastal Planning in the Adriatic was held on Wednesday, 26th June 2024, at the Faculty of Economics in Rijeka. 

The Institute for Physical Planning of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County participates as a partner in the project aimed at improving the capacities of urban coastal areas and communities to respond to climate change. The project will define some of the assumptions for adapting to climate change in the process of spatial planning, produce a higher education curriculum for climate transition and plans for adapting to climate change for selected local communities in the coastal area of the Adriatic. In Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, an Adaptation Plan will be produced for the Town of Crikvenica. The project consists of a total of three work packages and is being implemented on the territory of two regions from Croatia and two from the Italian side.

Along with the Institute and the Faculty of Economics from Rijeka, who is the leading partner, three other partners from Croatia and two from Italy are participating in the project. The project will last 30 months, from 1st April 2024 to 30th September 2026.

The total value of the project is €1,928,010.59, with a co-financing rate of 80% from the European Regional Development Fund.
