PROF. MLADEN ČRNJAR PhD, LONG-TERM DIRECTOR OF THE INSTITUTE OF PHYSICAL PLANNING OF PGC HAS PASSED AWAY

Prof. Mladen Črnjar PhD has passed away, he was the long-time director of the Institute for Physical Planning of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and a member of the County Executive from the first assembly in 1993 until the end of 2007. He invested his entire professional life, great knowledge and inexhaustible energy into the development of our region. We will remember him as an extremely professional, cooperative person who was dedicated to his work and the functions that he successfully performed during his professional life.

Prof. Mladen Črnjar PhD was born in Rijeka in 1947.After Technical School, he graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Rijeka. He graduated from the same faculty in 1996. He was the director of the Institute for Sustainable Development and Physical Planning in the period from 1994 to 2007, and from 2008 to 2016 he was the director of the Institute for Physical Planning of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Public Institution.

He began his teaching, scientific and professional activity in 1998 as an assistant professor, then as an associate professor, and from 2005 to 2010 he was a full professor at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Rijeka. From 2010, he was a full professor with permanent tenure at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management in Opatija of the University of Rijeka.He was the author of several university textbooks and published a large number of scientific and professional works. He was also a member of the Society of Economists, the Croatian Scientific Society for Transport and an external member of the Croatian Academy of Engineering.
