11th MEETING OF THE ADRIATIC COUNTY INSTITUTES FOR PHYSICAL PLANNING WAS HELD

The Institute for Physical Planning of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Public Institution was the organiser of the 11th Meeting of the Adriatic County Institutes for Pal Plhysicanning. The professional part of the meeting was held in the conference hall of the Hotel Bonavia in Rijeka, on 30th September 2021.

The purpose of the meeting was the strengthening of the collaboration of county institutes for physical planning in considerations and expert solutions to the issues of various problems that are encountered in the carrying out of physical planning activities, especially in the part that is specific to the coastal area. The traditional meeting was attended by directors and employees of the Institutes for Physical Planning of the Adriatic Counties, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets of the Republic of Croatia and Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.

The meeting was opened with an address by the director of the Institute for Physical Planning of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Adam Butigan, the head of the Administrative Department for Physical Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection Associate Professor Koraljka Vahtar-Jurković PhD, and Vojko Braut who is the deputy prefect of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.

With regard to the problems observed in the area and the recognised priorities, the Institute for Physical Planning of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County presented two projects in which it was the holder of the preparation, and which served as subjects for the professional part of the meeting and the wider discussion amongst the participants.

1st subject: The development of sustainable tourism in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County – the methodological framework for assessing the reception capacity of the area: Neven Ivandić PhD (Institute for Tourism); Sanja Turk, M.Arch. (Institute for Physical Planning of PGC)

2nd subject: The analysis of the vulnerability of the coastal area of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County due to rising sea levels; Docent Igor Ružić PhD (Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Rijeka); Vedrana Petrović MBA (Institute for Physical Planning of PGC)

At the end of the professional part of the conference Adam Butigan, MGE, Director of the Institute for Physical Planning of PGC presented the applicative solution PratiPlan - a system for monitoring changes during the development of spatial plans and public discussions in the area of PGC.
