On 6th June 2023 a presentation was held at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Rijeka about the application of the results of the project Applied research of landslides for the development of measures of mitigation and prevention of risks (PRI-MJER) in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, organised by the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University of Rijeka and the Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering of the University of Zagreb, and employees of the Institute for Physical Planning of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County participated as stakeholders in the project.
Within the framework of the PRI-MJER project, the dissemination of knowledge about subsidence and landslides, new results of modern research about the susceptibility to subsidence and the inventory of landslides, as well as the methodology of their creation, was carried out, and the stakeholders in the project were informed about the possible application of the mentioned research results. Through the project, the entire area of Croatia was investigated, and in more detailed consideration the areas of three counties were selected on the basis of specific soil characteristics common in the Republic of Croatia, amongst which is the area of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, and the pilot areas within these counties (i.e. in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County the pilot areas in the City of Rijeka, the municipalities of Jelenje, Čavle, and Vinodol).
At the end of the presentation, the publications Guidelines for the Application of Landslide Maps in the Republic of Croatia and the Atlas of Landslide Maps of the PRI-MJER project, cartographic data and information on landslides for responsible management, as well as digital data of project results related to Primorje-Gorski Kotar County listed below were handed over to the representatives of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, the Institute for Physical Planning of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, the City of Rijeka and the Municipality of Jelenje, the Municipality of Čavle and the Municipality of Vinodol:
- Landslide susceptibility zoning map of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County (1:25,000 scale),
- Landslide susceptibility to subsidence zoning map for parts of the City of Rijeka, the Municipality of Jelenje, the Municipality of Čavle and the Municipality of Vinodol (1:25,000 scale),
- Inventory map of landslides of parts of the City of Rijeka, the Municipality of Jelenje, the Municipality of Čavle and the Municipality of Vinodol (1:2,000 scale).
