    THANKS TO THE FACULTY OF CIVIL ENGINEERING IN RIJEKA

    On the Campus of the University of Rijeka on 28th June 2024, a formal session of the Faculty Council was held, which marked the Day of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University of Rijeka and 55 years of higher education for construction workers in Rijeka and 48 years of the existence of the independent Faculty.

    At the formal session, awards were also given to the best students, teachers and associates for teaching, scientific excellence and knowledge transfer, as well as certificates of thanks to partner companies. The Institute for Physical Planning of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County was also presented with a certificate of appreciation for its significant contribution to the work of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Rijeka in 2023.

  • The Institute for Physical Planning of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County participates as a partner in the project aimed at improving the capacities of urban coastal areas and communities to respond to climate change. The project will define some of the assumptions for adapting to climate change in the process of spatial planning, produce a higher education curriculum for climate transition and plans for adapting to climate change for selected local communities in the coastal area of the Adriatic. In Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, an Adaptation Plan will be produced for the Town of Crikvenica. The project consists of a total of three work packages and is being implemented on the territory of two regions from Croatia and two from the Italian side.

  • ESPON (European Spatial Planning Observation Network) is a European network for monitoring spatial development, which consists of 28 EU member states and four partner states. ESPON is a programme of interregional cooperation that, by monitoring, collecting and disseminating spatial data and studies about the spatial development of the countries participating in the programme, analyses the effects of sectoral policies in the EU and contributes to the creation of an effective EU cohesion policy.
