  • The meetings of the Adriatic County Institutes are held with the aim of exchanging professional experiences regarding common spatial planning topics, especially those related to the planning, preservation and protection of the coastal and marine areas.

    The official programme was held on Wednesday, 24th September and began with a reception for the directors of the Adriatic Institutes and the director of the Institute for Spatial Development, hosted by Ivica Lukanović, the prefect of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.

    The programme continued in the conference hall of the Bonavia Hotel in Rijeka for all participants of the meeting and the institutes’ employees. Following the welcoming speech by the host, Director Adam Butigan, expert lectures were presented on the Institute’s projects.

  • The 40th anniversary of the Institute for Physical Planning of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County was marked at a scientific and professional conference held today at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rijeka.

    The Institute has adapted its name and organisational structure several times over the past four decades to reflect the changing context and evolving legal framework. Today, the Institute formally and actually connects several roles in the function of the County’s spatial development. From the primary role in the preparation of the County’s spatial plan, through the control of the preparation of the spatial plans of towns and municipalities, to the analysis of the condition of the area.
