  • On behalf of the administration of the University of Rijeka, the Vice-Rector for Digitalisation and Development, Prof Senka Maćešić PhD welcomed those present. The ceremony was led by the Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor Mladen Bulić PhD, who addressed the gathering with a prepared speech.

    At the ceremony itself, certificates of appreciation were presented to companies for their significant contribution to the work of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Rijeka in 2022, amongst which is the Institute for Physical Planning of PGC.

    Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor Mladen Bulić PhD presented the letter of appreciation to the Director of the Institute, Adam Butigan, thanking him for the activities that the Institute has carried out through cooperation with the Faculty.

     

  • The meeting was opened with a welcome speech by Adam Butigan, Director of the Institute for Physical Planning of PGC, Bojan Linardić, Director of the Institute for Spatial Development of the Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets, and Vojko Braut, the Deputy Prefect of Primorje-Gorski County.

    The Institute for Physical Planning of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County in cooperation with Euro Ekspertiza j.d.o.o. from Zagreb produced a study entitled Developmental indicators of the situation in the space, and it was presented at the one-day meeting. The study was created as a result of the need to analyse the existing system of reporting about the situation in the space and consider the possibility of its improvement.   • The study analysed the settlements of Gorski Kotar where the greatest pressure from construction was observed. It was analysed what makes Gorski Kotar recognisable (identity factors), what kind of negative changes are taking place in the space (transformations), and examples of houses were featured in the Study, which are recognised as having a recognisable image of Gorski Kotar by their type, size, proportions, materials and design elements and form its spatial identity.

    The result of extensive analyses are guidelines for settlement planning, which are defined as guidelines for preserving the image of the settlements and possible further development of the settlements, as well as guidelines for the design of buildings and arrangement of construction parcels of land.
