At the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral on 1st October 2019, the Perspectives of the Southern Doors of Europe business forum was held.
The forum, upon the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the construction of the Zagreb-Rijeka railway track, was organised by the Croatian Chamber of Commerce - the County Chamber Rijeka alongside sponsorship from the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure and in collaboration with Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, the Port of Rijeka Authority, Croatian Railways Infrastructure, Croatian Railways Cargo, Croatian Railways Passenger Transportation, the Croatian Association of Railway engineer and the company Manšped.
Within the business forum there was also a roundtable on the subject of spatial plans and railway connectivity in which Adam Butigan, the director of the Institute for Physical Planning of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, participated with a presentation on the subject of the spatial possibilities and sustainable development of the Port of Rijeka on the island of Krk. An integral part of the presentation was an animation of the new Krk-mainland bridge and the first phase of the container terminal in Omišalj. In the creation of the animation, an article published in the Novi List newspaper on 10th April 2017 was used.
