  • The international conference was organised by three institutions: the Association of Consulting Engineers if Bosnia and Herzegovina, the IPSA Institute of Sarajevo and the Association of Architects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and as such was an innovative platform for the exchange of knowledge and ideas between the participants, decision makers and leading experts in the region and from abroad, and in the domain of spatial and urban planning and related disciplines.

    Amongst other things, the themes for discussion included the following areas: sustainable urban and transport planning, the future of mobility and accessibility, EU directives for planning, digitalisation, ecologically acceptable planning of the use of urban transport, sustainable plans of urban mobility, multi-modal transport, infrastructure and infrastructural recycling, models of financing, interurban connectivity, innovations in transport efficiency and more.

  • On Wednesday 3rd October 2018 the ‘How to Read a Spatial Plan’ exhibition was opened.

    The exhibition was opened by the president of the County Assembly, Mr Erik Fabijanić. The director of the county Institute for Physical Planning Adam Butigan explained how the theme of the exhibition was an attempt to bring spatial planning closer to the citizens. Head of the Administrative Department of Physical Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection Koraljka Vahtar-Jurković PhD commented on the implementation of spatial plans.

    Spatial planners pointed to the experiences from the profession and to the importance of the public’s participation in the making of spatial plans.
